Rexburg
Last weekend Madie and I went to visit my sister in Rexburg. We had a lot of fun together. The weather was really nice. It was fun to see them play together.
Bonfire and Banana boats
While we were in Rexburg we had a bonfire (campfire) one night. I keep calling it a bonfire and I keep being corrected. I loved it. It was nice to do something different and to be outside. Madison liked it too. We roasted hot dogs and my new favorite...Banana boats! My brother in law Brandon introduced me to this new treat. A banana stuffed with Rolos and Peanut Butter cups topped with marshmallows!
Hailey was playing with them and they were laughing so hard!

Happy Mother's Day
OuR MOtHeR's DaY!
Every year I do a mother's day luncheon for my mom and my mother-in-law. They come over and we enjoy a nice home made lunch. I always try new recipes and decorate the table. Here are some pictures from our luncheon this year.
My table. The theme was black and white.
I served everything in flower pots. I found this cute idea in my new cookbook. I baked the bread in these flower pots.
They got citrus lotion and shower gel as party favors.
Oh... and you can barely see the "low-voltage" pina coladas on the right side in the picture. They were good!
The main dish: Salmon and Pasta ceasar salad served in a flower pot.
Oh... and dessert was Molten Lava Cakes and Ice Cream!
Sorry this blog contains a little bragging. Its just that I don't cook very often so it is definately worth blogging about when I do!
hope everyone had a happy mother's day!

I finished in 2 hours and 12 minutes.
Here I am celebrating just past the finish line.
Kiley and I with our Robie Creek T-shirts! We trained together and it payed off. We did a lot better we thought we would and the 8.5 miles uphill and 5 miles downhill weren't so bad afterall. Thanks Kiley for talking me into running it and training with me!The finishers!
My brother Jordan finished in 2 hours and 2 minutes! Kiley finished in 2 hours and 34 minutes! Here we are enjoying the party afterwards.

Follow me!

Madie has become quite the boss lately. She motions you to come here and then grabs your hand and leads you wherever she wants. We were at the park the other day and she got a hold of Connor's hand and dragged him to go play! Aren't they so cute with their back packs? They have their picnic lunch inside.
cUpCAkeS!
My sister and I took Connor and Madie to a cute little cupcake shop last week. We got them each their own "babycakes" (mini cupcakes) and we treated ourselves to the big ones! They loved the cupcakes!

More Easter
We celebrated Easter with Brett's family last Saturday. Madison got to dye eggs with her Aunt Amber. Here she is trying to color the eggs with crayons and put stickers on them.
My first Easter Egg Hunt
The weekend before Easter we took Madison to my work for an Easter Egg hunt. The NICU had an easter egg hunt for the employees and their families. She had a lot of fun!Even though there were a lot of kids, she was able to find a lot of eggs. One of my co-workers was dressed as the Easter Bunny. Madison cried every time she even looked at her. Other kids her age were sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap and getting their pictures with her, but Madison was terrified of her!

hApPy EaSteR
We had a fun Easter! My parents and brothers came over to our house for an easter breakfast and then we watched Madison open her easter basket and do an easter egg hunt. She got a pink beaded necklace, a barbie and a soccer ball from the Easter bunny. She loves the pink soccer ball! She was funny during the egg hunt because as soon as she found out there was candy in the eggs she didn't want to search for any more. She just wanted to eat the candy. After the Egg hunt we went to Church. It was a great day.
I made easter nametags for everyone for our easter breakfast.

The Race is on...
4 weeks to go until Race day! I have been training for my first half marathon: The race to Robie Creek. "The toughest half marathon in the Northwest". It is 8 miles uphill and 5 miles downhill! My friend Kiley convinced me to do it with her. However, she has been sick this week so I have been training with my brother Jordan. Today we ran most of the course, and despite what he says, it is BRUTAL! We made it to the top where there is still a few feet of snow. I ran 10 miles. 5 up and 5 down. He ran 8 miles up and 5 miles down! And so the training will continue until Race Day...
